Day 3–4

Sofia – Rila Monastery – Plovdiv

Visit Rila Monastery and enjoy a lunch featuring regional specialities before continuing to Plovdiv.

Explore Plovdiv’s Old Town, Ancient Theatre and Kapana district. Afternoon introduction to local cuisine or an optional Bulgarian cooking workshop.

Veliko Tarnovo

Day 5–7

Plovdiv – Kazanlak – Veliko Tarnovo

Travel to the Rose Valley to discover Bulgaria’s famous rose-oil production and taste selected rose-based products. Continue to Veliko Tarnovo.

Day 6

Veliko Tarnovo & Arbanasi

Visit Tsarevets Fortress and the old town. Afternoon excursion to Arbanasi with a traditional lunch and introduction to local culinary traditions.

Day 7

Veliko Tarnovo – Elena & Bulgarian Yogurt – Veliko Tarnovo

Full-day excursion to the town of Elena. Visit Elena Dairy, where a food technologist presents the production and storage process of traditional dairy products. Taste Bulgarian yogurt, ayran, white brined cheese and yellow cheese. Explore Elena’s historic centre before returning to Veliko Tarnovo in the afternoon.
